Horses for Sale

Sugar is a 15.2hh lesson horse. Sugar has been the ideal school horse for a few years and is great with kids and adults alike. She can WTC and jump smaller rails without a problem. This girl knows her job. Ideally I would like to sell her with her buddy, Wellington who just loves her to death. Willing to negotiate for someone taking both. Asking $2,500. for Sugar

Wellington is a 15.3 or 16hh (I will confirm) gelding who I use for part-borders and intermediate riders. He has also been a great husband horse. He does not work well with nervous riders, so a confident rider (even a beginner) is best. Asking $1,500. for Wellington

Lexington (Lexy), a 12hh pony mare is an absolute treasure and we love having her at the farm. This Hackney pony likes to nuzzle her way into your heart and you can't help but fall in love right back! Lexy has been ridden recently by a 12 year old girl but she's quickly being outgrown! This is a great pony for the family with horse experience. She needs a tender hand to help teach her what is expected at a new home, and she'll give 100% back. She's such a cutie and kids just love her. No pony attitude here, just polite manners and knows to be careful with kids! An easy keeper for sure. Asking $1,000. for Lexington

All three of these horses are great in cross ties and for farrier and vet. All shots & worming up to date. No issues.
An honest and loving home is a must for these lovely horses. Looking for a good home with lots of love and attention.

Employment Available

Higher Still Stables is looking for a part-time riding instructor starting in April or May 2007. You have lots of experience with horses and with riding lessons. You are someone who puts focus on training equestrians, not just riders. You are mature, responsible and reliable. You work independently and have a hands on approach to helping bring out the best in students and in the horses. Safety and having fun are your top priorities. Most of our students are hobby riders, this is not a show barn. We just know that kids love horses!

Please e-mail: higherstillstables@yahoo.ca with your experience and salary expectations. Also if you are willing to trade lessons for your own riding time (part-board).

Welcome Little Lexington!

I'm thrilled to announce the arrival of our new pony - Lexington! Lexy is a Hackney mare who stands 12hh. Lexy will be used for children's riding lessons in Summer 2007 after getting used to the routine at Higher Still. We're excited to have her in the barn - she's helping to keep Wellington and Sugar on their toes! Lexy has settled in very quickly and I think she already knows her new name (previously called Sunrise). She's just a sweetie pie and we're happy to have her!~ Come on by to meet her!

Ahhh so sweet!

This is such a cute picture - Sugar Frosted Fancy looks so nice - like she's actually a sweet horse! Kaitlyn loves Sugar and it looks like the feeling is mutual! I like this shot! Kaitlyn rides both Wellington and Sugar but is sweet on her - can't explain it but she loves her! Me...I prefer Welly!

Here is a picture of my recent trip to Kentucky.

We went to the Kentucky Horse Park and did the trail ride, it was pretty good.

I really enjoyed going to Churchill Downs - we sipped mint juleps and walked the paddock - very cool!
